About Shelf of Games

Shelf of Games is a small, quiet collection of classic puzzles that you can play for free in your browser. Here is why it exists and who is behind it.

What This Site Is

Think of a shelf in a family living room, stacked with well-loved board game boxes. You take one down, play for a while, and put it back for next time. Shelf of Games is that shelf, only online. Each game is a classic puzzle that has kept people happily busy for generations.

Everything here is free. You do not need to sign up, give an email address or download anything. Open a page and start playing on your computer, tablet or phone. Your progress is saved only in your own browser, on your own device, and never sent anywhere.

We care about comfort as much as about the puzzles themselves: large clear text, strong contrast, big buttons, and no blinking or hurrying. The games should feel calm, like sitting down at a table with a good puzzle.

Who Made It

Hi, I'm Vladimir. I'm a web developer, and I have been making games for as long as I can remember. As a child I drew board games on squared paper and made my family play them; later I learned to build them for the screen.

I made Shelf of Games because I wanted a peaceful place for the puzzles I love. Too many game sites are noisy, cluttered and full of things that get in the way. I wanted something simpler: open the page, play, enjoy. If this little shelf gives you a quiet half hour in your day, it has done its job.

What Comes Next

Right now the shelf holds Sudoku, with four difficulty levels and a daily puzzle. More classic games are on the way, and new shelves will appear as the collection grows. Each new game will follow the same idea: free, simple, comfortable to play, and kind to your eyes.
